l dente - al-DENT-ay - (usually pasta but also some veggies) something cooked so as to be still firm when bitten

Example: "In a reference to 'Django,' one critic wrote cleverly but nastily, 'It is a tribute to the spaghetti Western, cooked al dente, but finally sauced to death.'"
