Bridging — brid-jing — a word used metaphorically to suggest an action that carries someone or something over something, as a bridge does over a river
Example: "The Week magazine explains that 'Spanish workers have perfected the art of bridging — calling in sick on Friday or Monday for a longer weekend away from the job.'"
